Background. Congenital malformations of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract are common birth defects detected in neonatal period and usually present with signs GI obstruction which at times can be life threatening. Anorectal among more frequent congenital anomalies. The co-occurrence heart defect (CHD) along malformation significantly affect natural history either defect. Purpose - to study prevalence children CHD risk factors. Materials methods. A total 100 patients were enrolled out 66 (66%) males 34 (34%) females. All any (anorectal malformation, tracheoesophageal fistulae, anterior abdominal wall defects) presenting Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Paediatric Cardiac unit, Pediatric surgery outpatient department (OPD) as well In-patient (IPD) between October 2019 2021 included study. detailed examination was done followed by echocardiography observed factors studied. Results. Most anomaly anorectal (71%) fistula (17%), seen 14 children. ventricular septal (VSD) (43%) patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) (36%) atrial (ASD) (14%). Among cases CHDs 10% most VSD (43%). Forty one percent had PDA (57%) being underlying Functional 28 malformations. Conclusions. coexistence severity have prognostic implications. Thus, early cardiac evaluation should performed every case preferably echocardiography. This is likely help stratification management such accordance principles Declaration Helsinki.
